Katherine began her award-winning career in the theatre in 1982 and in 2006 was awarded The ANPC Award for her substantial contribution to the Australian theatre industry. Theatre credits include: A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER, TONIGHT WE ANCHOR IN TWOFOLD BAY, A SPORTING CHANCE, DARLINGHURST NIGHTS, DIVING FOR PEARLS, BARMAIDS, FRAGMENTS OF HONG KONG, KING TIDE, NAVIGATING, THIS HOSPITAL IS MY COUNTRY, KAYAK, MAVIS GOES TO TIMOR, and HARBOUR. Katherine’s productions continue to enjoy successful seasons in Australia’s major theatres today.
Katherine has written and script produced for seasons 4, 5 and 6 of the acclaimed TV series A PLACE TO CALL HOME as well as being an associate producer and writer on the 2020 series BACK TO THE RAFTERS for Amazon Prime. Other recent screenwriting credits include mini series HOUSE OF HANCOCK; telemovie SCHAPELLE; and a number of episodes for BLACKJACK; HALIFAX FP; KILLING TIME; EAST WEST 101; SATISFACTION; WILDSIDE; GRASS ROOTS; FALLEN ANGELS; SNOWY and GP. Katherine is also the Australian co-writer of the Canadian-Australian co-production ANSWERED BY FIRE.
Other credits include documentary series DARWIN’S BRAVE NEW WORLD and feature documentaries UNFOLDING FLORENCE – THE MANY LIVES OF FLORENCE BROADHURST and WOMEN HE’S UNDRESSED, both directed by Gillian Armstrong.
Katherine is currently in development on the feature film HELENA! for StudioCanal; a feature film adaptation of THE TUSCAN COOKBOOK based on the life of Stephanie Alexander and Maggie Beer; the TV series MISFIT which is the adaptation of Alannah Hill’s memoir for Fremantle TV. In 2025, Katherine will be in production on the Australian/Irish co production CHASING MILLIONS, a feature film Katherine has co written, based on biggest bank heist in Irish history.
